Kapadokya is a large valley in central Turkey containing some of the most amazing rock formations we'd ever seen. The valley is surrounded by three volcanoes that had erupted about a million years ago and deposited lava in the valley. Because of the differences in composition of the lava from the three volcanoes, the resulting rock eroded at different rates over the course of time giving us today some pretty strange formations.
